Perishable Warehouse Supervisor 2nd. Shift - Indian Trail, NC

Summary: Responsible for the day to day warehouse functionsinvolving the supervision of workers and coordination of activities concerned with ordering,receiving, replenishing, inventorying, order selecting, and shipping materials,supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in warehouse, or yard by performing thefollowing duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
Prepares reports such as inventory balance, and shortages.
Walk assigned departments frequently.
Communicate effectively with associates, vendors, and customers.
Advise associates on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
Ensure effective labor scheduling of all direct reports.
Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
Manage outside contractors and vendors.
Direct associates in order to maintain a high level of productivity
Using Inventory and Shipping Warehouse computer systems trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
Determine work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
Operate assigned departments to achieve financial objectives.
Practice positive associate relations. Be sensitive to the needs and concerns of associates.
Interpret company policies to associates and enforces safety regulations.
Issue written and oral instructions
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
Follow Company's attendance policy.
Follow Company's policies and procedures.

Minimum of 18 years of age
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.)from four-year college or university and four to five years of experience; or Associate's degree and four to five years of experience.
4+ years of experience working in and/or supervising in a warehouse environment.
Language Ability:
Ability to read andinterpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups ofcustomers or associates of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract,multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and todraw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, ordiagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variablesin standardized situations.
Computer Skills:

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises LeadPeople and all associates in the department, on average 45 associates persupervisor. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with theorganization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities includeinterviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, anddirecting work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates;addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
