Summary:
Cashier / Sales Associate is responsible for running the store register, accurately cashing out customers, stocking shelves on a daily basis, cleaning inside and outside store areas and cycling out food & beverage items goods to meet freshness standards.
Specializes in working the day or night shift and maintaining product inventory.
Responsible for balancing out cash drawer at the end of each shift and submitting receipts to management.
List of Duties and
Responsibilities:
Receive payments for product sold- whether by cash, check, EBT, credit cards, or automatic debits.
Issue receipts to customers for products bought; make necessary refunds, credits, or change to customers.
Complete daily duties including cash -in/out, cleaning both inside and out, stocking, communicating inventory shortages/overages to manager and accurate safe drops in an accurate and timely fashion.
Cash-in / out before and after each shift ensuring the cash drawer is accurate and equal to transaction report.
Perform all cleaning and stocking duties in accordance with the shift checklist and/or as directed by the shift supervisor.
Quickly and seamlessly roll registered during busy times, while keeping accurate drawer counts.
Ensure store is clean, trash is taken out, floors are swept and vacuumed, shelves are stocked and hot/cold beverage area and machines are properly clean and working.
Provide assistance to customers by making available information on products, and their benefits.
Maintaining interpersonal relationships with the public, especially customers.
Keep records of transaction totals.
Develop and maintain non-monetary records and reports.
Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints Greet each customer as he/she enters the store premises and also as they step out.
Ensure that the checkout area is clean and in order at all times Accurately scan, ring up products and provide correct change to customers.
Stock shelves in the store and include price tags on each item on the shelve Monitor daily retail gasoline competitors and send updated prices to owners immediately upon changing gas prices.
Understand all information in the daily reporting of store operations.
Assist customers/clients in moving out their items purchased at completion of transactions Supervise other staff and provide on-the-job training when asked to Compute every transaction Calculate payments in total received during a specific period of time and compare with total product sales Ensure all merchandise is fully stocked and displays are attractive and displayed in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
_______ Greet customers as they arrive inside the store and politely inquire into their purpose of visiting.
Direct customers to the correct aisles within the store or escort them to the proper shelf or aisle.
Provide guidance and advice on product selection and make customers aware of features and specials.
Handle stocking duties to ensure that shelves are populated adequately before and after each shift.
Prepare and serve food items as applicable such as sandwiches and heat the pre-cooked pizzas for customers to take away Handle incoming merchandise and ensure that it is correctly entered into the inventory system.
Assist customers in pumping gas and handle associated cash management activities.
Clean and maintain the inside and exterior of the convenience store and ensure that trash cans are properly emptied and cleaned.
Wipe and sanitize counters and shelves and monitor fitting rooms to ensure that no nefarious activities take place.
